Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive initial evaluations, assessments, and re-evaluations for all special needs populations.
  • Supports schools in all phases of the RtI process, including data analysis and problem-solving for the purposes of making decisions regarding individual student and program needs.
  • Works as a collaborative member of multidisciplinary evaluation teams in all phases of programming.
  • Interprets evaluative and diagnostic data to professionals, parents, and other concerned parties.
  • Chairs or participates in the IEP process as it pertains to individual student needs.
  • Participates in case conferences and /or pre-referral meetings as requested.
  • Serves as a resource person for other school personnel concerning students’ special needs.
  • Makes specific recommendations on ways to assist students referred for evaluation, keeping in mind evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Is familiar with functional behavioral assessment and the development of individual behavior plans.
  • Drives a personal vehicle between work sites.
  • Attendance is an essential part of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • ED.S. Degree in School Psychology 
  • Full or temporary approval in the State of Michigan as a school psychologist preferred. Accepting students who need to complete their intern year. (Salary for interns at the beginning professional scale)
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related field
  • Must be familiar with current special education eligibility guidelines.

 

 

 

Employment Date, Salary and Work Year

Anticipated start date will be the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.  Salary is determined as per the master contract. Workdays will be 185 days per the master contract.  The two-week deadline is August 15; however, it will be open until filled if a suitable candidate is not identified. EOE
