Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participates actively in building screening team meetings. Evaluates students referred by school, parents, physicians.

- Implements instructional activities defined by existing performance objectives.
- Plans and develops student activities in coordination with teacher assistants.
- Maintains effective relationships with ancillary staff and parents.
- Maintains all records pertaining to instructional activities.
- Plans curriculum, lessons, and Special Education programs and teaching methods.
- Tracks and monitors student progress to inform instruction
- Maintains the physical environment of the classroom.
- Establishes relationships with families.
- Evaluates student’s progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
- Prepares report cards, reading records, IPEC forms, classroom observation records, and other miscellaneous survey and forms.
- Attendance is an essential part of employment.
- Actively seeks out opportunities to stay up to date with best practice
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Required Bachelor’s degree in education or a field of study related to special education.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (multiple approval areas available)
Employment Date, Salary and Work Year
Anticipated start date will be determined upon hire. Salary is determined as per the current bargaining agreement. Workdays will be 185 days as per the master contract and prorated as deemed fit per employment start dates. EOE.
